Silver: 'Jersey logos inevitable'

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made a statement last Wednesday that corporate-sponsored jersey patches for NBA teams will happen within the next five years, according to ESPN.

ESPN conducted a poll on whether fans would mind having corporate-sponsored jerseys, and the large majority were against it.

While the NBA is third in the four major American sports leagues income-wise, allowing sponsors to put their name on the players takes some of the class the NBA developed in David Stern's years as commissioner.

Maybe those of us who are against it are a little old fashioned, but I suppose NBA fans will just have to get used to having their idols' uniforms intruded upon by that little two and a half by two and a half inch patch.
